How to prepare this recipe
This recipe for hot dog in dough is close to a traditional American one, with the funny name of “pigs in a blanket”. But this recipe is not the American “pigs in blanket” recipe. Soon we will make that too.

They are ideal if you have unexpected visits, for evenings spent with friends on TV at a football match or for children’s birthdays. If you have a sheet of puff pastry in the freezer and a few beer sausages in the fridge… it’s perfect!
Using a sharp knife, cut the frankfurters into 48 pieces, first cut a sausage into 3 pieces, then cut those 3 into half.
Roll out the puff pastry thinly, then cut it in half and then into 2×24 strips. Wrap puff pastry strips around each halved sausage.
Place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated cheese or your favourite seeds, or both.
Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until golden brown, in a preheated oven at 210°C (410°F).
Enjoy, Good Appetite!
