A Little History of Chilli Paneer
Chilli Paneer is believed to have originated in the Indian subcontinent, specifically in the northern regions of India. It is a popular dish in Indian Chinese cuisine, which is a fusion of Chinese and Indian flavors and cooking methods.
Chinese immigrants who moved to India in the 19th century brought with them their own style of cooking, which eventually melded with the local flavors and ingredients to create a new cuisine.
The dish is said to have been first created in the Chinese restaurants in Kolkata, India, in the early 1900s. It became a popular street food in India in the 1970s and 1980s, and then started to be served in restaurants as well.
The dish is now popular all over India, and it’s also a staple in many countries with large Indian diaspora such as UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Australia and many more.
Chilli Paneer is a delicious and versatile dish that can be made with different variations, with different types of sauces, vegetables, and spices.
Some variations include adding soy sauce, vinegar, or oyster sauce to give it a more Chinese flavor, or adding more heat with extra green chilies.
