Churros, The Spanish Fried Dough With Chocolate Sauce
They are also found in Latin American cuisine and the cuisine of the Philippines and in other areas that have received immigration from Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries.
The main ingredient of churros is flour. The simpler they are, the better. Serve with chocolate toppings or with sugar and cinnamon. They are very fragrant and tasty.
This is an easy to follow recipe. Originally, there is no sugar in the dough, just a pinch of salt. The dough doesn’t have to be sweet, as the cinnamon, sugar coating and chocolate sauce also sweeten it.

The eggs should be added to the dough when it has cooled down a bit. If we add the eggs into the hot dough, it will turned in scrambled eggs. The eggs are added one by one and mixed thoroughly with the dough. The ingredients may not mix well at first, but with persistent mixing it will become a homogeneous mass.
Fry the dough sticks in hot oil, but if they brown too quickly, lower the temperature. Turn them warm in cinnamon sugar, then serve with chocolate sauce or thinner chocolate pudding.
Put water, butter, sugar and salt in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Add the flour by stirring constantly.
After 1-2 minutes, once the dough has separated from the wall of the pan, remove from the heat.
Set aside, but stir a few times while the dough is cooling.
When is lukewarm, incorporate the eggs one by one into the dough.
Put the dough into a piping bag with a stellar tip.
Preheat a pan, pour plenty of oil into it.
As the oil is hot, pipe about 10 cm long (each) dough stripes into the hot oil.
Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
As they are fried take them out from oil, and put them on a plate lined with paper towel.
The paper towel will absorb the excess oil. Roll them while warm in the cinnamon & sugar mix.
Make the chocolate sauce.
Put the crushed chocolate and double cream in a heat and microwave resistant bowl and then place in the microwave. Remove every 30 seconds, and stir.
As the chocolate and butter is melted and mixed well, the sauce is ready.
Serve the churros together with the chocolate sauce.
Enjoy, Good Appetite!
