Breaded Cauliflower is a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional breaded and fried foods.
It’s made by coating cauliflower florets in a mixture of flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs, and then baking them to a crispy golden brown.
The cauliflower is first boiled or steamed to make them tender, then it’s coated with the breading mixture, and then it’s baked in the oven.
This dish can be served as a side dish or as an appetizer and it’s usually served with a dipping sauce, such as a ranch or a marinara sauce.
The dish can be made with different types of breadcrumbs and seasonings to suit your taste.

The origin of breaded cauliflower is not clear,
but it likely originated as a way to make cauliflower, a healthy but sometimes bland vegetable, more appealing and delicious.
The technique of breading and frying or baking vegetables, such as cauliflower, eggplant, and zucchini, has been popular for centuries, but it’s not clear when breaded cauliflower specifically was first created.
Breading and frying or baking cauliflower, or any vegetable for that matter, is a way to make them more tasty and appealing.
This dish probably started to be made as a home-cooking dish, but it has become popular in restaurants too.
It’s likely that breaded cauliflower has been developed in recent years, inspired by the popularity of breaded and fried or baked foods, and also by the trend of healthy eating.
Preheat the oven
to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook for 3-4 minutes or until tender but still firm. Drain and let cool.
In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt and pepper.
In another dish, place the beaten eggs and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the breadcrumbs in a third dish.
Dip each cauliflower floret in the flour mixture, then in the beaten eggs, and then in the breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the cauliflower to adhere.
Place the breaded cauliflower florets on the prepared baking sheet and spray with cooking spray or brush with oil.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
If you prefer, instead of baking, heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded cauliflower florets until golden brown and cooked through.
Enjoy, Good Appetite!
