History Of Mimosa Coctail Recipe

The yellow-flowered mimosa plant, Acacia dealbata, inspired the name of the cocktail.

The cocktail’s history is unknown. However it was first known as a “champagne orange.” While Meier’s 1934 book on mixing drinks, which has a specific symbol for his innovations, does not use it for the mimosa cocktail, some attribute the creation of the mimosa cocktail to the bartender and cocktail author of the Paris Ritz, Frank Meier.

The cocktail Buck’s Fizz is frequently compared to the mimosa. In the 1960s, the mimosa gained popularity in the US.

The Earl of Mountbatten of Burma served Queen Elizabeth II a mimosa during his trip to the south of France, according to a news report in the Sydney Morning Herald.
